The relief, that was modelled in clay and fired to biscuit (terracotta), depicts the suffering and pain Christ went through in His holy walk to the cross. The figure of Christ emphasises this great suffering and bares the scars on His body.
The artist studied under his father, Antoine Camilleri, as well as Gabriel Caruana and Esprit Barthet.
