More Endorsements for Joseph Muscat

Speaking at a public gathering, Professor Grech described Mr Muscat as a person who has the necessary qualities to represent Malta and Gozo in the European Parliament.

“Joseph Muscat is academically competent, energetic and hard-working. The experience he has accumulated in recent years will enable him to defend the interests of citizens,” he said.

Mr Muscat is making a concrete offer to the Maltese and Gozitans and has already made inroads within the Party of European Socialists, said Prof. Grech, adding that, in his opinion, Mr Muscat would distinguish himself as a representative of the Maltese and Gozitan people in the European Parliament.

Speaking during the same meeting, A3FM disc jockey Joe Tanti said that this is the first time that he is publicly endorsing a person running for office. The top DJ said that he felt that he had to do so because now is the time for a new way of doing politics.

“It is time to call what is black, black and what is white, white. Joseph Muscat is capable of this type of politics,” said Joe Tanti. He added that irrespective of one’s political beliefs, Maltese and Gozitans need competent people to represent them in the European Parliament. Joseph Muscat is such a person, said Mr Tanti.

Former billiards and snooker world champion Pawlu Mifsud, who was also present, showed his active support for Joseph Muscat as a candidate for the European Parliament election.

Winding up the activity, Mr Muscat said that he is working to protect ordinary Maltese and Gozitan people from the negative effects of European Union membership and to reap the benefits. One such issue is the one relating to the Working Time Directive which regulates the hours of overtime that employees can work. Mr Muscat stated his commitment to work to retain the right of workers to decide this issue in full respect of health and safety regulations.
