“It has to be understood that Mdina requires proper and detailed planning of projects before they are executed. We are dealing with a historic city, with medieval and baroque elements. Our work will be increasing seriously over the next days when the actual paving project, designed by architect Manwel Buttigieg, will get off the ground.”
“In Mdina we take great care to keep the residents and shop owners informed of what is happening and we have a close working relationship with the local council. Our work will create inconvenience but we will work to keep this to the minimum. Our office will respond to each and every request for information or complaint,” Mr Bondin said.
As part of our ongoing discussion we have an open discussion with the residents today between 5pm and 7pm. We are also reviving the historic buildings grants scheme whereby we assist financially in the restoration of façades.” Dr Bondin emphasises that the Master Plan is still in the public consultation phases and not yet finalised.
