Vittorio Cerchiaro, 35, originally from Benevento in Naples but currently living in St Julian’s, admitted defrauding Ashraf Jarbo and selling items without being in possession of a trading licence.
Magistrate Denis Montebello fined him Lm600 for the fraud charge and Lm25 for the other charge.
Police inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.
