A Mitsubishi Pajero driven by a 39-year-old man from Zurrieq crashed into an electricity pole in Hal Far Road. The driver and another passenger sustained light injuries while the woman from Marsaxlokk was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital suffering from serious injuries..

The 17-year-old from San Gwann was a passenger in an Izuzu Gemini being driven by a 24-year-old man from Ghaxaq. The man was driving in the direction of Santa Lucia when he lost control of the vehicle, which mounted the pavement before crashing into a barrier. The Civil Protection Department were called to help free the couple, who were taken to hospital where the man was described as being only slightly injured. The car sustained considerable damage.
