Giovanni Bonnet, 45, from Zejtun, was charged with slightly injuring Christopher Lee Gatt. He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Police inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the defendant.
