MLP Draw attention on Wied il-Ghasel’s bad state

Speaking to the press close to the Lily of the Valley secondary school in Mosta, Dr Sant complained that rubbish was piling next to the school and described how further down the valley the situation was worse.

The Labour leader made a short tour of the area with the party’s candidates for Mosta local council elections. He explained that the Labour candidates had made their best to draw the council’s attention to the problems at the valley.

He described the environmental problems resulting from trenching work carried out by the Drainage Department and left unfinished.

Dr Sant said that the council had only carried out 35 per cent of its electoral programme. He mentioned the embellishment of the Mosta square and the improvement of local public transport as examples of unfulfilled promises.

Dr Sant said that the MLP candidates, even if in minority, will be implementing two of its electoral proposals within the first 100 days in office. He explained that one of the proposals the candidates were making was the re-routing of traffic, so that the road opposite the Mosta Dome becomes the entrance to the locality rather than the exit.
