Emanuel Galea, Charles Buttigieg and Joseph Cauchi own mobile kiosks that they set up during the Qrendi feast, dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.

The protest claimed the men have been setting up their kiosks in the same place for the last five years. This year, these locations were allotted to the band club and the men were made to set up their business in a different area.

The men said they should have been notified about any change in location two months prior to the feast. This was not done and therefore the protest claimed the local council impinged on their rights.

The men claimed the local council abused its power. Due to the fact that they were not allowed to set up their kiosks in the usual spot, they lost substantial amounts of money during the feast celebrations. The men are holding the council responsible for their financial losses.
