On Sunday at 6.35pm there was a fault in a power cable that links Bugibba Holiday Complex substation with the substation of Islet Promenade in Bugibba. The electricity service was restored at 12.30am on Monday but since repairs continued, the service was again suspended between 7pm and 9pm on Monday evening.
On Monday, at around 5.30pm, a fault developed in the power cable linking the Msierah Distribution Centre to Tower Road substation in Sliema. Due to this fault, electricity supply was disrupted in parts of Sliema and parts of Gzira. The service was restored to the affected localities during the night.
Meanwhile, early yesterday morning a fault developed in the power cable that supplies electricity to San Gwann Industrial Estate. Parts of San Gwann, parts of Kappara, parts of Imsierah and parts of the San Gwann Industrial Estate were left without electricity because of this fault. Electricity was fully restored by 10.15am.
Also yesterday morning, at around 10.45am, a private contractor carrying out drainage work at the University grounds, damaged an underground power cable.
The electricity supply in parts of University Campus and in Tal-Qroqq, Msida was disrupted and repairs were being carried out to restore electricity to the area.
