The woman was a passenger in a Honda CRX driven by a 46-year-old Englishman when the car they were in was involved in a collision with a Land Rover driven by a 50-year-old Maltese man.
The three were taken to St Luke’s Hospital, where the Japanese woman was certified to be in critical condition. The drivers were discharged following medical examinations.
Magistrate Silvio Meli appointed various experts to assist him with the inquiry. Rabat police are also investigating.
