Malta Independent Friday, 30 July 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 23 years ago

The stand was particularly focused on the EU programmes: Youth, Leonardo da Vinci, and Socrates, but visitors could also find information on the Culture 2000 programme.

The programmes feature various opportunities such as Youth Exchanges, Mobility, Comenius (School Education), European Voluntary Services, Erasmus (Higher Education), Pilot Projects, and Youth Support Measures.

The stand promoted the various features of these programmes on its stand, and a number of literature material related to the programmes, and to the EU Education and Culture in general, was distributed.

The EUPU personnel on the stand offered further information and advice on the programmes such as information on the application processes and objectives of the programmes.

In view of Malta’s high participation in these programmes in the last four years, the number of visitors to the stand was consistent and high.

Malta’s participation in Socrates (Erasmus), Leonardo da Vinci (Mobility), and Youth (Exchanges) amounted to 3,000 beneficiaries since 2000.

The stand was set-up with

the support of David Buckley

and Sandrina Presciutti from

the European Commission Communications Unit in Brussels related with fairs and exhibitions.
