A total number of 26 youth workers and leaders hailing from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Iceland, Romania and Malta, which are participant countries in the Youth Programme of the European Union, took part in the training course, conducted by two qualified Lithuanian and Maltese trainers. The training course was possible through funds allocated by the European Commission’s Directorate – General for Education and Culture to the Malta Youth National Agency to hold international training

courses.

The participants were given a strong first experience of

international youth work and would eventually be better prepared to make use of the Youth Programme of the European Union.

The course focused on intercultural youth project experience, the benefits of non-formal and intercultural learning, and the exploration of the possibilities of support available from the Youth programme.

The training course included icebreakers, workshops, discussions, presentations and was further enriched by talks given by Maltese past beneficiaries of the Youth Programme who explained about their projects and fruitful experiences. An intercultural night wrapped up the four-day training course.
