The initiative was undertaken by the Consulate and a US organisation called Wheelchairs Foundation, which in previous years has made many donations of wheelchairs to the MCCF to be passed on to individuals and special needs organisations.

President Fenech Adami thanked the consul for all his work and also expressed gratitude to the Wheelchair Foundation.

Dr Fenech Adami said that the MCCF had become an institution in Malta and also said that since he had been its chairman, he had realised how many people helped, not only with the running of it, but also with donations.

The wheelchairs will shortly be handed over to id-Dar tal-Providenza, the Park of Friendship and the Arka Foundation.
