In a statement, the council also said that in light of the proposal for all the fish farms to be situated in Malta’s south east area, a report on the effect the implementation of this proposal would have on the locality of Marsascala should be drawn up.

The local council has asked to be consulted at every stage of the decision-making process on this proposal. The council appealed to other southern councils, especially those of coastal areas, to give their full support and cooperation to this cause.
