In its statement, the ministry said that the work on the bay was divided into two parts.

The first phase was completed this year as per schedule and the ministry is now planning the second phase of the project, which deals with the inner part of the bay.

This part of the project will be carried out next year.

It is unfair, the ministry commented, that media reports – not The Malta Independent – comment about the area that has not been embellished as yet.

The ministry also condemned the behaviour of some people who, through negligence and lack of responsibility, were dirtying the bay and its surroundings.
