Luigi Sansone, on behalf of Chanel Ltd, said the company owned the trademark names “Chanel” and “CC”, the oldest of which went back to 1967.

The complainants said that they were in possession of evidence that Mario Grima, owner of Y-London, was selling counterfeit items under the label “Chanel” and “CC”. Dr Sansone said Mr Grima had been sent a letter instructing him to cease selling the items on 14 July.

In the protest, Dr Sansone urged Y-London to stop selling the bogus labels and to issue a declaration that it would no longer do so.

Dr Sansone also appealed for Mr Grima to pay compensation.
