A campaign in the UK has now gained momentum for a mandatory five-year (prison sentence) for anybody carrying a knife.

This should also take place in Malta and our Ministry of Justice should take heed.

Anybody found carrying such dangerous weapons in “road blocks”, should be arrested and taken to court.

Just think of all the near fatal stabbings at bars and discos in Malta, we hear of during the year.

All these new mandatory sentences of carrying knives or other weapons would definitely reduce knife crime by 80 per cent. The menace of knife crime on young people must be tackled now! Make Malta a safer place to live in.
