Only the Good Lord knows exactly the many lives that have been lost in the Boxing Day seaquake on the Indian Ocean floor which then caused the awesome, dramatic and frightful spectacle of those giant waves many metres high which resulted in the loss of not only many lives (much more then the media can ever quote), but also many injured, many homeless, so many infrastructures destroyed and so many ills and maladies that will result as a consequence.

Man is of no consequence to Nature, notwithstanding so much scientific advances made by Man who very often regards his (or her) existence as indispensable to the advancement of the human race: maybe, but not when Nature in all its might strikes!

Such natural tragedies make each and every one of us realise how insignificant each and every one of us can be vis-à-vis the force of Nature that in its beauty can equally bulldoze and reduce to nothingness so many efforts made by Man!

Some of us were heard to comment how lucky may we be not to suffer such natural upheavals in their horrid magnificence: but then one can never really say, because experts had stated that such seaquakes could not occur on the Indian Ocean Floor, and yet they did!

So the gist of all this, upon reflection and meditation, is that each and every one of us must strive to bring out the best at the moment we are living and stop being obsessed with all the materialism that so many of us apparently want to thrive on in the process of which we are destroying what was once so magnificently beautiful. But watch it, because Nature might retort at some hour, some day, because Man in his grandeur is never satisfied with what he has, but craves for more.

This very often is producing unexplainable results, though in the heart of hearts, most of us might comprehend that maybe what we are attributing to Mother Nature is in reality the consequence, one way or another, of the very deeds or misdeeds of Greedy Man!
