Throughout the past financial year, Bank of Valletta has registered an overwhelming 19 per cent increase in participation from employees who regularly forward their suggestions. This was announced by Bank of Valletta chief officer operations during the presentation of this year’s Best Suggestion Award and Best Performing Unit Award.

Mark Gauci from the bank’s Fleur De Lys branch made the suggestion that won the Best Suggestion of the Year Award. Mr Gauci proposed the introduction of a system that increases efficiency on a bank-wide basis and results in a better

service being delivered to the customer.

The bank’s Bancassurance Office won the award for Best Performing Unit. This unit registered the highest percentage of accepted suggestions of those submitted.

Addressing the employees during the presentation of prizes, Mr Xuereb said: “The bank values its staff and the Staff Suggestion Scheme awards seek to promote creativity and motivation among our employees. We are proud of our staff who come up with innovative ways to improve the bank’s service and its product portfolio”. He added that the popularity of the BOV Staff Suggestion Scheme has been on the increase since the year it was introduced.
