Morally Convinced again

Malta Independent Friday, 14 January 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

I am morally convinced that l’orizzont and Co. are greatly disappointed when they have to regretfully inform us in very bold type that:

a) A particular factory, hotel, etc. has had to close down and discharge a number of workers,

b) There has been a hold up, an escape from prison, and uprising at Ta’ Kandja,

c) Farmers and fishermen are exporting and earning less,

d) Thousands of Maltese families are living in poverty,

e) There has been a sharp rise in the cost of living,

f) A number of graduates are still looking for a job,

g) There is little work at the Drydocks,

h) Discussions between the Maltese government and a foreign tycoon who was interested in investing millions in Malta have failed,

i) Bus drivers or bakers or doctors or whatever have given an ultimatum to the government,

j) Christmas sales have never been so low,

k) A particular school has been without an arts teacher for more than a week,

l) A particular medicine is not available and a cockroach has been spotted in one of the hospitals wards.
