Island Hotels Group has recently appointed John Muscat Drago as human resources director.

Mr Muscat Drago has over 15 years experience in human resources management as well as experience in the tourism industry. He has a degree in public administration and has occupied a number of positions in the human resources field over the years. For the past five years he has held the position of director of the human resource and support directorate at the MTA. Prior to that he worked as human resources manager at MEPA for two years. He has also worked as a human resource managing consultant with Misco for six years.

Mr Muscat Drago is currently president of the Foundation for Human Resources Development and a director of the Sir Temi Zammit Foundation.

The appointment of Mr Muscat Drago is in line with the aim of Island Hotels Group to continue strengthening the human resources role as a key contributor towards achieving the overall objectives of the group.

“Since commencing operations in 1987, Island Hotels Group has grown at a very fast pace from a company employing 25 people to a group that employs over 800 people. This number is expected to exceed 1,000 employees with the opening of the Radisson SAS Golden sands Resort & Spa later on this year.

“The employment of Mr Muscat Drago will enable us to continue to consolidate our efforts in the most important part of our company, our staff,”said Island Hotels Group director of operations Winston J. Zahra.

“We have always invested in our people and we will continue to do so in the years ahead. I am very confident that John will fit in well with Island Hotels Group and add value to the group overall,” he said.
