Msida Official banned for five years

Msida club official Charles Chircop who assaulted assistant referee Nicky Debattista after last Saturday’s 1-1 draw between Msida and Pieta at Ta’ Qali was yesterday handed a five-year ban effective from 18 January by the MFA Disciplinary commissioner.

Three Msida St. Joseph players were handed suspensions. Manuel Boni and Omar Borg were suspended for two matches while Adrian Farrugia was handed a three-match ban.

The three will miss the next two matches against St. Patrick and Floriana. Farrugia will also miss the last game of the first phase against Marsaxlokk.

Two Hibernians players also received a one-match ban. They are Essien Mbong and Aaron Xuereb.

From the lower divisions, Jonathan Buttigieg and Joseph Casha (Marsa),Kevin Naudi (Attard), Reuben Vella (Mellieha), Stephen Said (Sta. Venera) and Eric Lia (Fgura) were all handed a one match ban
