The Maltasong Board has announced the final participant list for Malta Song for Europe 2005. The previous list featured six artists who were selected with two songs and thus the composer of one of their songs had to look out for another performer.
The most remarkable change, according to the website esctoday.com: Marc Paelinck (Belgium 2002 & 2004 with Sister and 1 Life) withdraws the song Sail away and Ralph Siegel reaches the final with a sixth song, meaning only one of his seven submitted songs didn’t make it to the final of Malta Song for Europe.
In case a singer had been selected with more than one song, he had to sing the song that obtained the highest points in the sub-final organised on 8th January. The composer of the other song had two options, either find another singer or withdraw the song from the final.
The complete list with the 22 Maltese finalists of Malta Song for Europe 2005 is as follows:
1 Charlene and Natasha Love is the reason
