A Gozitan man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the police drug squad seized just under two kilogrammes of cannabis resin following weeks of observation.
The 51-year-old man was arrested and is expected to be charged in court in the coming days after a substantial amount of cannabis found in his car and his residence.
The investigations began when the police received anonymous information about cannabis cultivation in Gozo. The operation, which spread over several weeks, led the police to intercept this middle-aged man. Following his arrest, various searches in his car, residence and a field near Dahlet Qorrot yielded a bit less than two kilogrammes of cannabis.
Magistrate Paul Coppini was informed about the case. He appointed several court experts to assist him in the magisterial inquiry.
