I refer to Pembroke’s MLP mayor Joe Zammit’s press conference held on Saturday 29 January, as reported in the newspapers recently.

In particular, I refer to Triq il-Meditterran in which I took a personal interest.

One must only refer to the parliamentary questions numbers 6,969, 9,160 and 10,266, all answered by Minister Jesmond Mugliett, wherein the government committed itself to carry out works in the said street.

These works are to start in the near future, after all necessary permits were issued, co-ordination meetings held, the best possible prices obtained and a revision of works done.

Mayor Zammit’s press conference was held in the light of the upcoming council elections, in what is an unfortunate, albeit, clear attempt to obscure central government, rather than thanking the same.
