Four Premier Players banned

Four Premier League players, Richard Buhagiar (now with Ghajnsielem in Gozo), Manrico Porceddu of Msida St Joseph, Kris Laferla and Ivan Woods, (both of Sliema W.), were all suspended one match by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday afternoon.

Laferla and Woods will be missing tomorrow’s encounter against Pieta Hotspurs.

In the first division, Keith Fabri of Hamrun Spartans was the only player to get a one-match ban.

There were five players from the Second Division also banned for one game. They are Louis Buhagiar (Attard), Andrea Zammit Tabona (St Andrew’s), Gordon Mallia, Bruce Genovese and Keith Farrugia (all Zebbug R.).

Zebbug coach Vincent Carbonaro was fined Lm25.

Five other players from the third division were also suspended.

Neil Busuttil and Gordon Said, both of Mgarr, have been suspended indefinitely – their case has been referred to the Council.

The other banned players are Jeremy Gatt and Kevin Schembri of Kalkara and Christian Abela of Mgarr.

Mgarr coach Joseph Grech was fined Lm25 and suspended till 1 August 2005 while Josef Galea, the club’s kit manager, was suspended till 1 August 2005.
