Political Discrimination

From Mr J. Magro MBA

I refer to the letter submitted by Dr Andrew Borg Cardona on behalf of his client Chris Pullicino (TMIS, 30 January).

I fail to see the logic why Dr Borg Cardona was instructed to reply to my statement instead of taking the necessary action on the other reports that he himself quoted in the said letter. To the best of my knowledge, I have not seen any denials made by his client, or him on his client’s behalf.

I strongly believe that it would have been more appropriate to correct the findings of the court expert and what was then quoted in the press, rather than take issue with what I wrote in a letter to the editor. I have no problem with the statement made by Dr Borg Cardona as I was only quoting an official source, which, as far as I know and as I have already stated, has not been publicly corrected.

On the second point raised by Dr Borg Cardona, as an ordinary citizen in the local public domain, I expressed an opinion that is shared by many well meaning people and which has already been repeated in the press. In the circumstances, I suggest to Dr Borg Cardona to keep better track of what is stated in the press. It is not for me to judge the responsibility of the different officers of the FTS, and therefore in no way am I placing any blame on his client. I will let the general public come to their own conclusions.

Finally, I wish to thank all those who have expressed in different ways their solidarity in my just cause.

Jimmy Magro
