I was very pleased to learn that the idea of a trade unions council has fallen through once again.

I cannot imagine a free and independent trade union worthy of these two adjectives sitting at

the same table with a trade union which is part and parcel of the MLP.

Facts speak louder than words, and it is not what some union leaders say that counts, but what they did in the not too distant past, when we had a Labour administration.
