Table-Tennis: Easy Win for leaders

Malta Independent Wednesday, 9 February 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

First Division leaders Banks ROL had an easy win over bottom placed University winning 7-2 but Birkirkara Keramit, on the other hand, had to fight hard to win 6-3 against the much improved Mosta Gunners team.

National team player Alex Soler (Birkirkara) was the best player of the day winning a decisive match against the new Tunisian player of Mosta Gunners.

In the Second Division Valletta TTC continue to dominate and are now four points clear from their next rivals Fleur de Lys 'B'.

In the Third Division all is now left to next week's interesting match between HSBC TTC and Fleur De Lys. The Banks team needs a win to go on equal points and hope to play a deciding match for promotion, obviously if both teams continue in their present good form.
