The Tennis Academy was launched last year by the Malta Tennis Federation, aimed for children aged between six and 10 years with the primary intention of promoting further the game.

The courses are supervised by Mr Dusan, the national coach. All coaches hold Level One certificates and two of them have recently succeeded in passing the Level Two Course. The Academy has also succeeded in acquiring the services of another top foreign coach, Ms Sanja Jukic, who represented the former Yugoslavia in the Federation Cup.

Students attending these courses, are placed in different categories according to their level of play and age group. Those students who are placed in a lower category, can progress to the next higher category if they show improvement. Those who lack improvement will remain in the same category, however every effort will be made to help them progress. Only those students who do not show any commitment and desire to learn and improve will be asked to drop from the Academy.

It is the intention of the Junior MTF to eventually invite students who have reached a satisfactory level to be trained with the national junior team. Such training will be free of charge.
