There was nothing better than opening the newspapers this morning (yesterday) and reading about the MOC-KMS-Education Ministry agreement after the recent dispute.

I am really happy for sports in general and especially for the athletes who, together with their administrators, can now focus on the job at hand.

And that should see our athletes battling to win medals, achieving success and glory for themselves and also for Malta, our tiny, beautiful Island country.

Thanks for your paper’s contribution thus keeping the public updated and also for reminding the parties who had difficulties between themselves that their commitment to solving the impasse was imperative.

Yesterday was truly a great day for sports. Well done to everybody for ending the crisis. And by that I mean everybody, including all officials from all the parties concerned who sat down together and ironed out the differences.

The mediation of George Abela should not go unoticed. We owe him a big ‘thank you’ for his time on the matter.
