I would like to refer to an incident that happened on Saturday, 12 February at 1pm in Valletta.

Our driver was held up at gunpoint in front of our outlet in South Street. Police officers from Valletta police station chased the armed man, who was apprehended in the area of Castille Place.

I would like to express my thanks to the minister responsible for the Police Force, under the guidance of commissioner John Rizzo, for the bravery and altertness of the police.

I would in particular like to mention assistant commissioner Alfred Abela, police sergeant 1218 Raymond Vella and police constable 1531 Ivan Caruana.

The police officers involved showed great courage and selfless dedication to duty.
