Assocjazzjoni Sportiva Tignè

Malta Independent Monday, 28 February 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The contents of the article (TMID, 23 February) on Assocjazzjoni Sportiva Tignè were incorrect.

It is true that questions were put to me, but it is also true that the journalist did not want to tell me who fed him the questions. Therefore, the committee felt that there was no reason why AST should answer the questions fielded once the journalist himself did not answer the only question put to him.

The work of AST can be judged with what has been achieved. Before, derelict premises were at its disposal and there were various ugly/unorthodox habits. All these were broken and today a modern new premises will be available and a clean management system will be put in place. Special thanks must go to ministers Cilia, Zammit Dimech and Mugliett.

Why and for whom are the people who want the old habits to prevail fanning this fire?

Charles Cassar A&CE

President

Assocjazzjoni Sportiva Tignè

Editorial note: It would be good to know which “contents” of the article in question are wrong. Mr Cassar did not mention any.

Secondly, journalists are bound by a code of ethics never to reveal their sources. TMID offered Mr Cassar the chance to reply to our questions to get his side of the story. Of course, he was free not to answer them.
