Play continued last Sunday with four games from the national league, with a surprise defeat for All Ages Eurochange, and good wins for Kerygma A, Armor All NRG and New Ages.

All Ages Eurochange 19

ASC Ta’ Xbiex W. 20

ASC Ta’ Xbiex achieved an astounding win against All Ages Eurochange who left much to be desired in their performance. ASC Ta’ Xbiex came on strongly and this seemed to surprise their opponents. The score at the end of the first two periods was 9-5 and 13-10 to ASC Ta’ Xbiex but by the end of the third period, All Ages Eurochange managed to pull back overtaking their opponents by two shots. Unfortunately their effort was not enough as ASC Ta’ Xbiex regained control of the game to emerge winners of this match.

M’Scala 19

Kerygma A 28

Kerygma A had the better start scoring four shots without reply from their opponents. Things started to settle down for M’Scala and they were trailing behind by only three shots at the end of the second period. Kerygma A were not deterred by the changes effected by the M’Scala side and they cruised towards a comfortable and deserved victory.

Armor All NRG 21

Kerygma B 12

Armor All NRG had a straightforward win against Kerygma B who, in the first stages of the match complicated their own situation with unforced erratic passes. In the second period, Kerygma B improved their performance but still could not match their opponents’ superiority.

The changes effected by both teams in the third period had a more positive effect for Kerygma B than Armor All NRG as they managed to win the two successive fractions.

Mellieha 18

New Ages 24

The encounter between Mellieha and New Ages developed into an entertaining match. Although Mellieha took some time to find their footing they managed to put New Ages under pressure for three quarters of the game.

In the last period, by taking advantage of their opponents’ lack of consistency, New Ages kept progressing towards another victory.
