I realise that, in life, it takes all sorts but I am frankly nonplussed by the bizarre interests of your correspondent, Mr Victor Spiteri of Attard, who is seeking enlightenment on the copulating habits of Japanese Sumo wrestlers and on the Pygmy tribes of Amazon cannibals (TMID, 3 March).
Considering that he claims to be “a long-standing avid reader” of this newspaper, I am even more mystified as to why he has suppressed his curiosity for so long — unless, he had better things to do in his prime of life, as I suspect.
Time waits for no man. Mr Spiteri would now be well advised to reflect on William Blake’s dictum, “Expect poison from the standing water”.
