Reading your newspaper (3 March) I read that the Mqabba council did not score much, but just by reading Dr Sant’s percentage, I thought that this council must be one with a Labour majority.
But reading further down the lines, I noticed that I was mistaken, because I found out that this council is Nationalist-led and still fulfilled 55 per cent of the promises made. It is not much, but an improvement, is it not? Congratulations to that council.
Usually the rating of what the Nationalist-led councils deliver is 26 per cent, perhaps 35 per cent, while those of the Labour-led councils is 80 to 96 per cent. This time, the 55 per cent is a slight improvement.
I do not care much about what ratings these councils obtain. In fact, I do not care at all, but with the greatest respect Dr Sant should stop taking people for a ride. I believe that today people can see with their eyes and touch with their hands, and if there are still people who are waiting for a politician for a lesson, then it is very unfortunate.
