‘Quo Vadis’ AD What?

Malta Independent Wednesday, 16 March 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 22 years ago

At last! Finally staunch supporters of the AD are noticing, that “AD appeared to be cosying up to the MLP” (TMID 10 March).

Here are just a few examples to the Nationalist electorate who might have been hurt by some drastic decisions taken by the present administration and to spite the administration voted AD in the last elections, be it either local or general.

Do you remember the shenanigans at Marsascala by Dr Harry Vassallo? Everyone knows that the environment is supposedly – sic – at the heart of AD.

Do you remember Wenzu Mintoff? Toni Abela? At the helm of the AD executive committee? Do you remember Neil Spiteri? These gentlemen all worked hard for the AD to be formed. But when the time came, they all fled and found shelter within the MLP. Today, two of these gentlemen are MLP candidates. And what about Prof. Arnold Cassola? The post he holds in Brussels does not grant Prof. Cassola any faculty to project himself as a champion of the environment because when he was put to the test, he failed since, as far as I am concerned, he did not utter one single word against the manner in which Dr Harry Vassallo behaved at Marsascala.

Therefore, when the time comes to trust somebody at the helm of the country, it is suggested that the individual’s behaviour be considered before making decisions.

If a decision is taken in the despair of the moment, the result of which is a wrong choice, then it is useless crying over spilt milk.
