Naxxar Lions scored a good win at the Gozo Stadium yesterday.

The three points have now lifted them to a safer position in the standings though it leaves Gozo with practically no more hope of avoiding relegation.

The Lions opened the scoring through Clifford Mifsud on 19 minutes and although they had to play most of the second half in 10 men after the red card shown to Simon Muscat, they added a second through Brian Chetcuti before Elton Vella scored Gozo’s equaliser, direct from a freekick.
