Moviment Graffiti will never cease to amaze me; each time I think that they have reached the peak of unrealistic idealism they say something which proves that indeed there is no limit to their unrealistic idealism.

The Maltese Parliament is currently in the process of revising our laws with regard to terrorism. Just like any other responsible country, Malta is making sure that terrorism will be strictly dealt with, should it occur. This is not something being imposed on us by the USA but rather an idea that has been going round the entire European Union including several states that are critical of the US. Moviment Graffiti, however, has other ideas. Their statement declares that: “Since Malta has not been the victim of terrorism and little to no harm has been done by terrorists especially during the last decade, there is no need for such legislation”. What a selfish and idealistic attitude to take! That’s a true worldly feeling – just because we haven’t suffered, who cares about the others? Who cares about the victims in Madrid on 11 March? Who cares about the victims of 11 September in New York and Washington DC? Who cares about the Beslan siege victims? Moviment Graffiti sure doesn’t!
