Gillette’s Breakthrough razor launches with Malta’s sporting finest

Malta Independent Sunday, 10 April 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The new Gillette M3Power is the most technologically advanced shaving system in the world.

That was the claim made at a major launch event given by senior Gillette regional managers, Cemail Baykus and Erinc Akkalay in conjunction with Malta’s Gillette representative, George Borg Limited, at the Hilton last week.

Over 100 guests attended a presentation given by George Borg, director of George Borg Limited, in which he described the extensive testing which had established conclusively that the new M3Power razor is the best-performing shaving system, significantly outperforming Gillette Mach3 Turbo, the world's leading razor by 2 to 1. The new M3Power provides men with the best, the closest and the most comfortable shave with less irritation – even when shaving against the grain.

Mr. Borg stated that the Gillette’s new M3Power is a high-tech breakthrough that offers a superior shave through:

• The Micro Power technology describes the pulsating effect generated by the battery-powered razor. The ‘Micro-Power’ descriptor neatly captures the small, pulsing movements and the way the product feels on the face. Micro-pulses stimulate hair up and away from skin so you can get a closer and more thorough shave with less irritation – in one power stroke

• The new Easy Glide blades, with their high tech power green and orange appearance, are Gillette‘s best blades ever. Protected by 45 patents, Gillette scientists have developed a new coating process called TUT “ or “thin uniform telomer “blades”, an ultra-soft protective skin guard as well as a patented lubrication system.

• The three blades – with advanced Anti-Friction TM coating – allow the new M3Power to remove more of each hair with less irritation. The ultra-soft skin guard consists of 10 thinner and more flexible microfins that precede the blades and smooth out the skin, gently lifting even stubborn hairs before the first blade cuts them.

• Superior forward-pivoting action, housed in the cartridge itself instead of the blade handle, allows the three blades to glide effortlessly along the surface of the skin while maintaining their progressive alignment.

• Independently moving spring-mounted blades sense and adjust to every contour of the face, adding to the closeness and comfort of the shave. The shaving organiser holds both the razor and extra cartridges, stands on end for convenient storage and packs easily for travel.

• The Indicator® lubricating strip with Vitamin E featuring a patented lubrication system, which releases even more lubrication over a greater number of shaves, improving razor glide and adding to shaving comfort (LubraStrip with Vitamin E and Aloe). The green stripe fades with use to signal when men are no longer getting the optimal M3Power shave.

• The new handle of the M3Power featuring knurled elastomeric crescents and metal grooves that provide better handling and control when wet shaving and a sleek, modern titanium-like design finish.

• Open cartridge architecture makes rinsing and cleaning the M3Power blades easier than ever; the single-point docking system – loading the cartridge at one point instead of two – makes it virtually impossible for consumers to accidentally load a cartridge upside down.
