HSBC Organises free financial planning seminars

Malta Independent Tuesday, 12 April 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The seminars were addressed by senior members of HSBC’s management team as well as a leading local tax consultant and lawyer.

During each seminar, those present were invited to put questions to the speakers and discuss any points raised during the presentations in further detail.

“Today, more than ever before, it is important for everyone to think carefully about how to make the most of their money. Issues such as pension provision and low interest rates mean that most of us need to plan ahead and make the right financial decisions to guarantee our standard of living in the years to come. HSBC, with its access to global expertise coupled with a range of locally designed products, is well placed to help.

“These seminars were designed to give people the information they need to make the decisions that suit them best,” said HSBC chief executive Shaun Wallis.

Four seminars were organised, three in Malta and one in Gozo.

The speakers at each seminar were HSBC director and senior treasury manager Charles J. Farrugia, shareshop manager Ivan Grech, HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Ltd life and pensions manager Stephanie Sciberras, HSBC head of wealth management Martin Scicluna and lawyer and tax consultant Anton Fiott.

“The response from the pubic to these seminars highlighted the fact that there are many Maltese who are keen to learn more about how best to secure their financial future,” Mr Wallis concluded.

Additionally, for customers interested in having a free financial planning review, HSBC Bank Malta plc provides financial planning officers throughout its branch network.

The aim of financial planning is to enable individuals to consider how best to use their financial resources in order to maximise opportunities.
