Please allow me to refer to Odds and Ends (TMID, 4 April).

How pleasantly surprising, indeed uplifting, to find not one but two items praising the efforts of Gozo Channel personnel in providing service to the people who crossed over to Gozo for their Easter break.

On behalf of the employees of Gozo Channel, I would like to thank you for recognising the efforts that are expended in trying to cope with the heavier than usual traffic, both of passengers and of vehicles, that such holidays produce.

The media are frequently quick to criticise when things are not at their best, but not so quick to acknowledge good service when this is given.

For this reason your “comment” is very much appreciated by the undersigned and by the employees themselves, and I am sure that it will spur them to continue to give of their best when the occasion next arises.
