Mr Angelo Micallef must really have a chip on his shoulder.
And the letter he sent to criticise Mr Peppi Azzopardi who claimed, on Bondiplus, that those who are in favour of the US unilateral war on Iraq are not truly Christian, speaks volumes as to the grade of hypocrisy he has reached.
If I were to follow Mr Micallef in his quest for hypocrisy, I would scream “Scandal!” at every turn, without looking within myself at my actions and deeds.
I have no time for the Fr Montebellos of this island, yet I do not scream “Scandal!” at him – and nor do I approve of the way the Curia silenced him.
Yet, again, this is a matter between the priest and his bishop and nobody else, and the least said, the better, in my opinion.
The way Mr Micallef criticises Peppi regarding the latter’s opinion on Bondiplus speaks for itself about the level of intolerance that the former has for other people’s opinions.
I repeat: around us we are seeing an upsurge of religious intolerance that we must do our very best to counter, and this through word and deed.
