Malta’s U/21 team suffered an unusual heavy defeat against Sweden losing 6-0.

Mark Miler’s boys sufered the first goal on eight minutes through Mikael Dahlberg with Alexander Farnerud doubling the score on 32 minutes.

Three minutes in the second half, the hosts increased the lead thanks to an own goal. Mikael Dahlberg added another goal on 56 minutes. Jon Jonsson scored a brace on 68 and 90 minutes to bring the final tally to six.

Malta will now meet Iceland in another Under-21 Championship qualifier at the KR-Völlur in Reykjavik on Tuesday.
