I refer to the letter entitled Trenching work in Iklin (TMID, 9 June). The Water Services Corporation outsourced the necessary work to a contractor, who is obliged to erect the necessary road diversion signs to minimise any inconvenience and ensure maximum safety at all times.

It seems that the contractor involved failed to observe these instructions and the Corporation has already taken the necessary measures to ensure that the contractor erects the traffic signs immediately.

The WSC understands that such upgrading and maintenance work is bound to cause a certain amount of temporary inconvenience to the public. However, the ultimate aim is to provide a better service to its consumers.
