In recent years the Eden Leisure Group have made investments totalling over Lm100,000 to upgrade their tenpin bowling facilities, including the replacement of the traditional wooden lane surfaces with brand new synthetic lanes, and also the total replacement of the computerised operating system and hardware, as well as ball-return machinery. In keeping with that aim of providing only the very best facilities to help our local talent advance, and maintain the SuperBowl’s status as a world-class sporting venue, a brand new lane maintenance machine has been purchased and installed, at a cost close to Lm10.000.

Mr. Dent commented: “Our bowlers are capable of great success in the international arena, as they have proved on numerous occasions. Therefore it’s essential that our facilities are on a level with foreign centres in which our athletes compete to represent Malta”.

American company Kegel has been contracted to do the maintenance work. “We installed the Kustodian Plus just last week and it’s already been put to work”, added Dent, “Lane conditioning is something of a Science, but with Kegel’s help, the transition from our previous machine to the new one has been really smooth. It’s a fantastic machine with extraordinary capabilities and features”.

Kegel’s lane expert Mr John ‘J.J.’ Janawicz is being flown in from the USA specifically for the Malta Open, and will be handling all conditioning during the event.
