New Air Malta Route to Reggio Calabria

Malta Independent Monday, 13 June 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

This service to the southern tip of the Italian peninsula is the result of collaboration between Air Malta officials and the Comune of Reggio di Calabria. For the last few months, the two sides have been engaged in detailed negotiations. It is expected that this service will open up a new market for Italian students from the area who wish to study English in Malta. Malta is a real “value-for-money” alternative to the UK and offers excellent English language schools. Young people wishing to study English see Malta as an excellent destination for this purpose, as it can also provide a wide range of entertainment and leisure facilities.

It is also expected that this new service will attract other types of holiday-makers.

Commenting on the new service, chief officer strategic planning Dominic Attard said: “Our flights to Reggio will not only enhance the outgoing travel opportunities offered to the Maltese public but will also help to increase tourists from the south of Italy.”

He continued: “Air Malta continues to be the prime air transport enterprise to invest in markets which have the potential to augment Malta’s tourism intake. No other airline serving Malta is as committed to our community and to our economy as Air Malta.”

Return flight prices start from only Lm72 including taxes, fees and charges. Flyaway Tours, Air Malta’s all-inclusive package holidays, are featuring the Lungomare hotel. Prices for a seven-night package, including flights and accommodation on bed-and-breakfast, start from only Lm157. Upgrades to half-board start from Lm28 for the whole week.
