No words can explain the hardship and frustration the communities of Bahar ic-Caghaq and Madliena are experiencing. The disturbance coming from the luna park in Bahar ic-Caghaq is already quite enough to drive anyone insane to say the least. What is even more incredible is that now we learn that an open-air disco and night club in the new beach area have been planned/proposed and might be considered by our authorities.
Is this country going mad? The Maghtab landfill has been a long-standing issue which is being tackled, albeit very late in the day. What about noise pollution? What about the individual’s inalienable and sacrosanct right to enjoy peaceful possession in his/her very own home?
Just when there seems to be an end to the Maghtab disaster we created, we are making sure that the very same area, which has suffered untold hardship for all these years, is being condemned to further ruin by opening up to such form of entertainment. Is this acceptable in residential areas?
Nothing will ever block out the daily din coming from the PA system and the loud ranting from the luna park. Now add to this an open-air disco and night club and what have you got? Innocent and desperate citizens ‘existing’ on the periphery of another entertainment jungle in the making.
Local council, Mr Politician and Mr Police Commissioner please note. This is way out of line. No one has the right to deprive us of the peace and tranquillity we deserve in our homes.
My hope is that these few lines encourage all concerned to fight on at all costs until all this is stopped.
