Guzi Grech of St Joseph Band Club, Hamrun, has won the national billiards championship for a tenth time in his illustrious career.

In the final, he beat Richard Balani of the same club 5-0.

Borg, a former world champion in 1997, beat Tommy Busuttil 4-0 in the semi-final, while Balani had beaten Pankrazio Borg 4-3 to reach his first final.

The match was played at the Peace Band Club in Naxxar and was controlled by Paul Galea.

At the end of the match, Dr David Farrugia Sacco, president of the MBSA, presented the trophies to the two finalists.
