The Maltese contingent taking part in the FISEC Games in Spain’s capital city, Madrid, is finalising its preparations for the Games which get under way today.

The contingent was met by Sig Francisco Orden Vigara, a top official of the organising committee, on its arrival at the airport.

The contingent is accommodated, like all the others, at the Hotel Auditorium.

Yesterday the athletes had their first training sessions before the Games, while the officials, Br Martin Borg, Louis Borg and chef de Mission David Azzopardi had meetings with other FISEC committees to discuss the details of these Games.

The weather and temperatures in Madrid are similar to those of Malta and the athletes have quickly adapted themselves to the conditions.
